IN THE BEGINNING
Johnston and Elizabeth Mitchell move south from Paisley to Church Farm, West Malling, Kent. The estate expands with dairy, livestock, mangold wurzel, oats, wheat and hay.
1919
GROWING... AND GROWING
Foxbury Farm is expanded by Robert Mitchell to encompass hops, goosberries, apples, cobnuts and other crops.
1922 LONDON CALLING
The family takes a stand at Covent Garden market, London’s iconic fruit and vegetable market (now a fashionable shopping district) – remaining there for 50 years.
1939-45 WAR WORK
1946 – HOME FARM
Robert Mitchell Jnr. (Known as RJW) acquires Foxbury House, at the centre of the farming estate.
He was an accomplished geologist, oil prospector and South American explorer.
1954 – FLORAL ADVENTURES
RJW opens a glasshouse nursery at Otford, Kent, cultivating geraniums and other plants.
2003 – SEAS OF PURPLE
Continuing the family tradition, Ian and Jod Mitchell plant lavender. Further specialist floricultural trials follow.
2010 – PRESENT: A NEW TRADITION
Mitchell and Peach launches, finding favour in leading stores worldwide. Exciting collaborations follow, including with Rolls-Royce London...
As the retail collections have grown, leading hotels worldwide offer Mitchell and Peach amenities to their guests.
